Corrections Policy

How we handle errors and issue corrections.

Fixing mistakes

When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently. Significant corrections and material updates are noted directly on the affected article, in its corrections and updates section, so the record is visible rather than quietly changed.

What counts as a correction

We distinguish between minor fixes (typos, formatting) and substantive corrections (facts, figures, characterizations). Substantive corrections are logged on the article with the date and a short description of what changed.

Report an error

Spotted a mistake? Contact us through the About page and we will review it. As the newsroom scales, a consolidated corrections log will be published.

This page is an initial draft. Final legal and editorial copy is subject to review.
